Lowell House transforms into Riverbend as organization rebrands
We are proud to offer a men’s sober living home with structure and stability. Tongas ArenaHost to music, sporting, and other entertainment events. Some famous acts that have performed atTsongas Center include The Harlem Globe trotters, Kid Rock, Korn, Barry Manilow, Bob Dylan, Green Day, Jay-Z, and many others. Several annual Lowell events and large meetings and conventions also take place at Tsongas Center, including the Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Located a minute’s walk to the train station and just blocks from downtown Lowell.
The Sudbury native spent time in prison, experienced homelessness and attended several detox and rehabilitation programs across Massachusetts, none of which seemed to worked. One of the best features of Lowell is its thriving arts and culture scene. The city is home to several museums and galleries, including the Lowell National Historical Park. The city also hosts many events and festivals throughout the year, such as the Lowell Folk Festival, which celebrates the city’s cultural diversity through music, dance, and food. Structured Sober Living in Lowell, Massachusetts

Lowell, MA, September 30th, 2024 – Lowell House is excited to announce that after 53 years, it will have a new identity, Riverbend, to reflect the organization’s evolution over the years. The name Riverbend gives a nod to the Merrimack River that runs through the heart of the communities that the organization services and as a reflection of the journey that their clients take in their recovery.

The board voted unanimously to transition to Riverbend at their September board meeting which also welcomed three new Directors to the board.
The program continues to provide critical housing and supportive services to men in early recovery. Residents prepare to return to the community, independent and substance free. Riverbend, formerly Lowell House, has been providing high-quality, accessible, and affordable addiction services and related support to the Greater Merrimack Valley community since 1971. The Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Living is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to support recovery guests throughout Massachusetts and to practice national quality standards for recovery residences. The Men’s Recovery Home has provided substance use disorder treatment to individuals struggling with addiction since 1972.
